  • Choose the phone you want to use with Address Book from the list and click Pair

Sending and receiving SMS messages

  • To send an SMS message, click any phone number label, such as "home," on an address card. Choose SMS Message from the pop-up menu. Be sure that the phone number you choose is a mobile phone that is capable of receiving SMS messages. Note: Using special characters (for example, รง) reduces the maximum length of the message you can send. The number of characters you can add to a message appears below the text window.
  • When an SMS message arrives for you, a window appears on your screen. If the number for the phone that sent the message is in your address book, the name of the sender appears with the message. Click "Save to Note" to add the message to the person's address card.
  • Please see this Apple Support document for further information.

Please Note:

  • There is no feedback on the phone while an SMS is being sent.
  • Address Book does not save sent SMSs to the phones memory.

Receiving calls from your mobile phone

  • When you receive a phone call, a window appears showing the caller's number. If the caller is in your address book, his or her name is also shown.
  • To answer the call, do one of the following:
    • To speak to the caller, click Answer, then pick up your mobile phone.
    • Click Send to Voicemail to stop your phone from ringing and allow the caller to leave a message. This is the same as pressing the Voicemail button on your mobile phone.
    • To send the caller to voicemail and create a new Short Message Service (SMS) message to reply to the caller, click Send SMS Reply. This is a handy way to silence the incoming call but still reply to the caller without disturbing others. Make sure the caller's phone can receive SMS messages. If it can't, you will not be notified.
  • Please see this Apple Support document for further information.
